Lunar Reaches 1 Million Users Across the Nordics

Hey Digital Banking Fanatic!

The Nordic digital bank Lunar has reached a new stage, surpassing 1 million users, including 25,000 businesses.

Since securing its banking license in 2019, the bank has expanded beyond Denmark into Sweden and Norway, operating in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, with 22 million people.

For the Founder & CEO Ken Villum Klausen, this milestone reflects more than growth alone: “Reaching 1 million users is more than just a number – it’s a reflection of the trust our users place in us, and the hard work of the entire Lunar team.”

Along the way, Lunar has introduced services such as Lunar Business, a crypto offering, a collaboration with Hollywood’s Will Ferrell, and the recently launched Lunar Youth.

With Moonrise spun off as a separate BaaS platform, Lunar is opening its infrastructure to other FinTechs.

While the focus remains on strengthening its position in the Nordics, the company is also preparing to expand into more complex financial services.
